We had breakfast at our lodge and I’m not too sure how you can muck up an apple pancake. It sounded simple enough but when it came it was just uncooked dough in the middle. I managed half of it as I knew I should get some calories down but I couldn’t stomach any more. Bob ordered the same and his was exactly the same as mine, inedible.
The days walking was really nice, always up but undulating and after lunch the path became stony and then sandy. It was nice terrain. For some part you could almost think we were in the dessert.
We had lunch at Shomare and stopped for the night at Dingboche at 4350 metres elevation. We are staying in the Khumbu Resort which is quite nice relatively speaking. I’ve stayed in a lot worse. Like last night lol. I had a nice hot shower but the problem is when you turn the little shower head off, the cold air hits you immediately and the whole floor in the little room is wet so you have to put socks on and run to your room upstairs with the towel around you.
We go to the bakery and for a slice of chocolate cake and a hot chcolate it costs $8 US. The shower was also 5 USD and the beer in the lodge costs ten dollars but it’s only 350 in the little shop. I buy an Everest beer to have in my room by head torch after dinner. It’s a rest day tomorrow so I’m allowed a little treat.
