Saturday 5th May – Day 37 – Climbing the Lhotse Face

Sunday 6th May – Day 38
In the helicopter on our way down the valley The popcorn field we make our way through, around and over, up and down large chunks of snow and ice I wake early before 6am. We are supposed to have tea at 6, breakfast 6.30 and leave at 7. I can hear Congba’s alarm clock beeping from the next tent. It’s funny because it keeps going off. He must be sleeping really soundly.after a while I start to
Monday 7th May – Day 39
It was so lovely to sleep in a bed last night. I also went out for chicken burger and chips and had a beer. Today I am going to have my hair washed in the little hair washing place. I’m not sure it lives up to the name salon but we’ll see. I’ll also have a shower and get some laundry done. Ah to feeling human again. Well what a strange day. I spent two
Tuesday 8 May – Day 40
Pretty uneventful but I manage to get a lovely hot shower in at my guesthouse and for lunch we go to Ang Gelu’s sisters house just down the Main Street here. It was really nice. We had Dahl bat, Craig had some Kukri rum with coke and I had a beer. Ang Gelu refuses to have any alcohol until after the trip. I also give my laundry to the girls working here at the guesthouse
Wednesday 9 May – Day 41
I woke up during the night to an amazing thunder and lightning storm. I looked out, saw my laundry still on the washing line and thought oh well, a final rinse lol. The day brought hot sunshine, this is probably the hottest day so far of the whole trip. My clothes dried quickly and I removed them from the line and packed my bag, ready for the 7am heli back up to base camp in

Linda is now back at base camp having had another exhilarating helicopter ride…she now waits for the weather window…
