Monday 23 April – Day 25

So we have a plan now that Ang Galou is back. We have a rest day today and then we have early dinner this evening at 6pm, try and sleep although I know I won’t be able to, then we get up just after midnight at 1am, have breakfast and start walking at 1.30/1.45 to move up to camp one. We sleep at camp one, then walk to camp two and back to camp 1,

Tuesday 24th April – Day 26 – Arrival at Camp One

We woke up at 1.30am and had breakfast in the dining tent with the heater on as it was so cold. We got geared up and Bob left with his Sherpa Neema just after 2:30am. I was to leave half an hour after with my Sherpa Ang Galou and we set off just before 3 am. It was cold but we kept moving, up and round and round all the huge ice sculptures. I looked

Weds 25th April – Day 27

Wow, that was a very cold night. I woke up repeatedly through the night’ 11pm, midnight, 3am, 4am, 5am and Man at 3 and 4 it was absolutely Baltic. Friday 27th April – Day 29

Well that was just the worst night ever. I had a headache all night and I was freezing cold. I must have slept only few hours. I couldn’t lie on any side cos it made the headache worse. I could only lie on my back and I don’t sleep on my back. I don’t want to take anything for the headache as it only treats the symptoms and masks the pain when really I want

Saturday 28th April – Day 30 – Return to base camp Rotation one complete

So last night after dinner Ang Gelou came to my tent 7.30pm and said, ‘okay tea in the morning at 4 am, breakfast 4.30, leave at 5am’. I was like ‘what?’, Jeez, I’d spent the afternoon in a lovely, warm tent reading and relaxing when I could easily have packed my bag and got everything ready for an early start. It’s dark and cold now but I try and organise some things. I hate packing
