My Everest Blog : Friday 30th March – Day 1

Flying Tara Air- 16 seater twin otter  And so we start to walk Turning the prayer wheels sends the prayers up to the gods. You must walk to the left of them and turn them only with the right hand  We flew into Lukla from Kathmandu. I have to say it was the bumpiest plane ride I’ve ever been on. Saturday 31st March – Day 2

We left Phakding on our way now to Namche. This is one of my favourite places in the world. It’s a bustling, colourful, vibrant little town and by far the biggest settlement and the most civilised place out here. Tuesday 3rd April – Day 5

We had breakfast at our lodge and I’m not too sure how you can muck up an apple pancake. It sounded simple enough but when it came it was just uncooked dough in the middle. I managed half of it as I knew I should get some calories down but I couldn’t stomach any more. Bob ordered the same and his was exactly the same as mine, inedible. The days walking was really nice, always

Weds 4th April – Day 6

I can honestly say although Zamling has the best rooms, this place the Khumbu Resort, Dingboche does the best food. My spaghetti Bolognese last night was amazing, breakfast of Austrian Omelette was amazing, pizza for lunch was amazing and I’ll be having the spag Bol again tonight. As today was a rest day we just did an acclimatisation hike up to 5000 m along a ridge line and came back. We had lovely views of
