Stopping for a break, get the backpack off and eat some food. We travel roped together as crevasses are all over the place. Thats actually me in there Same old routine now. Up for breakfast at 5.30pm, pack all the tents up and start to get ready to leave at 7pm. We had to take down the tents and pack everything up. These sleds would be heavier today. We left at 8pm and passed our ‘cache’ point (this is where most others make camp 2) after about 5 hours and then we went ‘uphill’ which I mean like up a wall of snow for another two hours. I was absolutely shattered at the top. It just hit me in the last 20 mins like a steam train. It was taking all my energy and positive thinking just to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I was so glad to reach our camp spot about 3am and then we took off our snow shoes, ropes and harnesses and started setting up the tents. We had dinner in our tents of pasta and then a packet of cookies for dessert. Went to sleep about 5am.
